Mexico’s National Meteorological Service (SMN) has reported that a low pressure system is potentially forming into a cyclone and will move over the coasts of Tamaulipas in the northeast of the country. The system will gradually dissipate, but not before bringing occasional torrential rains to states like Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, and Veracruz. Additionally, intense occasional rains are expected in Oaxaca, Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, and more. There is also a possibility of waterspouts forming in Tamaulipas and Veracruz.

The SMN has also issued a warning for the presence of a low pressure channel extending over the north, west, and center of Mexico. This system will bring intense occasional rains to various states including Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán and more. Electric shocks, hailstorms and strong to very strong winds are expected in different regions. 1 to 3-meter high waves are predicted along the coasts of Tamaulipas and Veracruz.

In light of these impending weather conditions, SMN has urged the public to stay updated on their warnings and follow recommendations from Civil Protection. The warning comes after a rainstorm last Friday that caused significant impact in several regions. SMN has been closely monitoring these weather patterns to ensure the safety of residents and visitors throughout Mexico.
