In the 2024 high school spring sports season in the Memphis area, several standout performances were highlighted during the state tournament known as Spring Fling in Murfreesboro.
In baseball, Jack Hibbard and Luke Miller of Arlington teamed up for a no-hitter in a 4-0 win over Bradley Central, with Hibbard striking out 11 batters. Slade Williams of Arlington scored two runs, while Brennan Bomar, Taylor Brady, Cole Photopulos, and Houston Walker of Briarcrest all had notable contributions in their game. Halton Donnelly and Hank Stalnaker of CBHS also put together solid outings despite a loss to Baylor.
Softball saw performances from players like Brittanie Layton of Arlington, who had two hits in a game against Nolensville, and Olivia Evans, Izzy Henderson, Meredith McCusker, Charlee Smith, and Jorja Wheeler of St. Benedict, who all made significant impacts in their victory over CPA.
