The World War I Museum and Memorial in Kansas City, Mo. is inviting visitors to celebrate Memorial Day with a series of free events and discounted admission. The day begins with a Memorial Day Ceremony at 10:00 AM in the Memorial Courtyard, featuring a public program with dignitaries and a keynote address from Lt. General (Ret.) Wendy M. Masiello.

At noon, a Bell Tolling Ceremony will be held to honor those who gave their lives in service. Another highlight of the day is the Walk of Honor Dedication and Ribbon Cutting at 2:00 PM, where the memorial has made updates by moving the granite bricks originally in front of the memorial to the sides in an effort to preserve them for future generations.

Visitors can also explore the main gallery exhibit, which has been updated as well as a new exhibit called Sacred Service. This exhibit showcases how faith leaders served during World War I and highlights their struggles both on and off the battlefield.

The museum will be open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Memorial Day. General admission will be half-priced, while active duty military, veterans, and their spouses/dependents can enter for free with valid ID. This promises to be a day filled with remembrance, celebration, and education for all who attend.
