McDonald’s has recently introduced a vegan burger called the McPlant to the UK menu. Although the trials of the meat-free burger in the US were not successful, it has been well-received in other countries such as Germany, Portugal, and the UK. The burger is made from pea and rice proteins and is served with either American or Cheddar cheese, ketchup, sandwich sauce, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles.

The McPlant has been available in the UK since November 2021 and is certified as vegan. It is served with vegan cheese and sandwich sauce. A comparison was made between the McPlant and the Quarter Pounder with Cheese from a McDonald’s in London. Both burgers included onion, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. However, the McPlant also had lettuce, tomato, and vegan sandwich sauce.

The Quarter Pounder with Cheese came with two slices of processed cheese while the McPlant had one slice of vegan cheese. It was noted that despite not being successful in the US market due to dietary restrictions or local preferences variations can be found in other parts of the world where it still remains available for customers to try out.

In conclusion, McDonald’s continues to offer its McPlant burger to customers who prefer a plant-based meal option. While it may not have been successful in certain markets like the US due to dietary restrictions or local preferences variations can be found in other parts of the world where it still remains available for customers to try out.
