On Saturday, the Longhorns of Texas had an impressive win over West Virginia. The game saw Dylan Disu score 27 points and Max Abmas score 19. Abmas, a graduate transfer who played four years at Oral Roberts, moved past Oscar Robertson on the all-time scoring list with his third 3-pointer of the game, putting him in 12th all-time in NCAA history with 2,987 career points. He is only 13 points away from reaching the 3,000-point career mark, a feat accomplished by only 11 other players.
Abmas made five of twelve three-point attempts and dished out nine assists while grabbing six rebounds. Disu also had a standout performance, recording a career-high with seven three-pointers and shooting ten for sixteen overall. Tyrese Hunter scored nineteen points, Chendall Weaver added thirteen and Dillion Mitchell contributed twelve points and eight rebounds for Texas.
West Virginia’s Jesse Edwards scored seventeen points, Noah Farrakhan had eleven and RaeQuan Battle scored ten for their team. The Longhorns built a twenty-five point lead at halftime after scoring fifty-five points in the first half and shooting sixty-five percent from the field. Looking ahead, West Virginia will face TCU on Monday while Texas will have a week off before traveling to face No. 5 Houston on Saturday.
