The New England Patriots have formally parted methods with quarterback Matt Corral. On Monday, Corral was waived from the exempt/left squad record, in response to the transaction wire. The Patriots had claimed Corral after he was waived by the Panthers throughout roster reductions. Initially, Corral grew to become the second quarterback on New England’s 53-man roster, alongside Mac Jones, because the workforce had beforehand waived Bailey Zappe and Malik Cunningham. Nevertheless, Corral was positioned on the left squad record on September 9. Since then, Zappe has rejoined the 53-man roster as Jones’ backup.
Corral, who was chosen within the third spherical of the 2022 NFL Draft from Ole Miss, needed to sit out his total rookie season because of a foot damage.
