Mark Viviano, a broadcasting legend with a 40-year career in the industry, has announced his retirement. In a heartfelt video message shared on social media, he expressed his gratitude for the time he spent in the industry and thanked his viewers and the sports community for allowing him to share their stories with the public.

Viviano spent 30 years in Baltimore, with the last 22 years at WJZ-TV. He covered stories on the Baltimore Orioles, Ravens, along with collegiate and high school sports teams. He plans to spend his retirement focusing on his family and helping those in need through programs at the Catholic Church of Baltimore.

Viviano’s retirement marks the end of an era for sports broadcasting in Baltimore. His dedication and passion for covering local sports have made him a beloved figure in the community. With a focus on family and community service, Viviano looks forward to the next chapter in his life beyond broadcasting.

Viviano will officially step down from his role on July 18. His departure will leave a significant void in local sports coverage, but his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
