After being released by the Saints in March, free agent safety Marcus Maye has finally found a new home with the Dolphins. This news was reported by Jordan Schultz.

Maye, who is 31 years old, previously signed a three-year, $22.5 million contract with New Orleans in 2022. However, his time with the team was plagued by injuries and suspensions. In two seasons with the Saints, he missed as many games (17) as he played (17), including a three-game suspension.

Maye began his career with the Jets, who drafted him in the second round in 2017. During his five seasons with New York, he amassed 409 tackles, eight interceptions, 28 passes defensed, five forced fumbles, and 4.5 sacks in 77 career games.

The Dolphins have been busy upgrading their secondary this offseason with the additions of cornerback Kendall Fuller and safety Jordan Poyer. Maye will provide additional depth and experience to their defensive backfield as they continue to build for next season.
