Manchester United is currently seeking a buyer for their striker, Mason Greenwood, after a successful loan spell with Getafe last season. The Premier League team has set a price of around €40m for his transfer in the current window. Despite being in talks with Serie A club Lazio, Manchester United has not been satisfied with the proposals put forward by the Italian club.
Lazio’s initial bid of €18m, along with a 50 per cent sell-on clause, was rejected by Manchester United. The Serie A team then offered a cash sum of €18m and was willing to include goalkeeper Christos Mandas in the deal, but this offer was also turned down promptly by Manchester United. It seems that Manchester United is holding out for a better deal for Greenwood as they evaluate their options for his sale this summer.
The negotiations with Lazio have not yielded a suitable agreement so far, and it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold as the transfer window progresses. Manchester United is determined to get the best possible price for Greenwood, who has shown great potential during his time at Getafe.
