Manchester United is reportedly considering signing Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee, according to a recent report from the Athletic’s David Ornstein. While there have been no official discussions between the clubs, United is currently in talks with Zirkzee’s representatives.

The striker has a £34m buyout clause in his contract with Bologna, making him an appealing option for United as it could simplify the signing process. However, other factors such as his salary and agent’s fees will also need to be taken into account.

Zirkzee had a successful season at Bologna under Thiago Motta, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists as the team qualified for the Champions League for the first time. Currently, he is representing the Netherlands national team at EURO 2024, having been called up as a replacement for an injured player by manager Ronald Koeman. This suggests that Zirkzee is highly valued and has potential both on club and national levels.

United continues to evaluate their options as they look to strengthen their forward line ahead of the upcoming season under new manager Erik ten Hag, especially since Anthony Martial left on a free transfer.
