INEOS, Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s company, has opted to continue with Ten Hag as manager despite the challenges faced during the previous season. Key players like Lisandro Martinez, Mason Mount, Tyrell Malacia, Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw, and Anthony Martial were missing for significant portions of the season. There were also some management issues, such as a decline in Marcus Rashford’s productivity and the alienation of Jadon Sancho, who was eventually let go after a successful loan spell at Borussia Dortmund.
Despite criticisms of Ten Hag’s defensive tactics and transfer decisions, Manchester United has ultimately decided to keep him as their manager. With the lack of better options available, the club seems to be placing their trust in the 54-year-old coach who has already delivered an FA Cup.
