Pierre Sage has been appointed as the new permanent head coach of Lyon. The announcement was made after Sage had been serving as interim coach since November, taking over from Fabio Grosso during a tough time for the club in Ligue 1.

Under Sage’s leadership, Lyon has managed to secure qualification for the Europa League and advance to the final of the Coupe de France. These successes have led to his appointment as head coach on a permanent basis.

As part of his new role, three additional staff members will join Sage’s backroom team, including former Valenciennes coach Jorge Maciel, who will be in charge of overseeing training methodology for the team.

Sage’s contract as head coach will continue until June 2026, indicating the club’s confidence in his abilities to lead Lyon to further successes in the future.
