Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the President of Brazil, has expressed his willingness to consider running for office again if it would prevent a “troglodyte” from governing the country. He made this statement during a radio interview on Tuesday, where he directed his comments towards the government of Jair Bolsonaro. Lula indicated that he would not allow Brazil to be led by a “denier” and stated that he would not let the country be ruled by a fascist again.

However, while the idea of running for office is not one of his top priorities due to his age, Lula emphasized that he is not willing to let Brazil be governed poorly once again. He mentioned that campaigning at the age of 80 would require him to consider his health at that time. Despite this, Lula continues to be a prominent figure in Brazilian politics and has been critical of Bolsonaro’s administration since its inception.

Lula began his third term in office in January 2023 after defeating Bolsonaro in the elections. He previously served as president from 2003 to 2010 and has been vocal about his opposition to Bolsonaro’s policies. Despite being 78 years old, Lula remains an influential figure in Brazilian politics and continues to play an important role in shaping the country’s future.
