Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr recently expressed frustration with Boeing over delivery delays. In an interview, he stated that the delays are “extremely annoying” and causing significant financial losses for the airline. This comes after Boeing slowed down production to focus on safety following the Alaska Airlines blowout, which led to delays in aircraft deliveries.

The comments from Spohr come after Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, CEO of Emirates, also voiced concerns about Boeing’s delays. He urged Boeing to “get your act together” and fulfill their promises to customers. Dave Calhoun, CEO of Boeing, emphasized the importance of slowing down production to ensure safety, leading to quality-control errors and subsequent delays.

Despite frustrations from customers like Ryanair and United Airlines, Spohr remains hopeful that Boeing will recover and resume operations smoothly. He emphasized the importance of having two strong aircraft providers in the industry. Spohr believes that Boeing will overcome its current challenges and continue to build reliable aircraft.

Boeing declined to comment on the matter when contacted by Business Insider. The industry is closely watching how Boeing will navigate through its current challenges and regain the trust of its customers.
