Lucia Garcia, a 25-year-old forward for Manchester United, is set to join Mexican champions Monterrey this summer after helping Spain win the Women’s Nations League in February. Despite his intentions to stay with United, Garcia was offered a highly lucrative salary to play for Monterrey, known as Las Rayadas.

Garcia scored two goals in the Women’s FA Cup final this season as United defeated Tottenham 4-0 to win their first women’s major trophy. Although discussions have been held between United and Terland, the pursuit of her replacement is still in its early stages.

United has started looking for Garcia’s replacement, with Brighton top-scorer Elisabeth Terland being one of the options. Terland is out of contract this summer and has drawn interest from multiple clubs.

Despite his intentions to stay with United, Garcia was offered a highly lucrative salary to play for Monterrey. The move will see him join Spanish World Cup winner Jennifer Hermoso, who signed for rivals Tigres in January.
