In the world of college football, Brian Kelly and his recruiting team made waves with a stunning flip of a highly-touted defensive line commit for the 2025 class. The player in question, Brandon Brown, had originally pledged his commitment to the Texas Longhorns on December 19th, 2023, but later decided to decommit and join LSU.

Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing in at 286 pounds, Brown hails from Melbourne, Florida where he plays for Eau Gallie High School. His decision to join LSU makes him the 14th commitment for the 2025 class and the second defensive lineman recruit along with Zion Williams who committed to LSU just one day prior. Despite currently being ranked as the No. 8 overall class in the country by 247Sports, LSU’s 2025 class ranks fifth according to On3.

Under Kelly’s leadership, LSU has consistently excelled in recruiting, signing top-ten classes every season during his first two years at the helm. With ongoing efforts to secure more top recruits, the class could potentially improve even further.
