On the morning of July 4th, LSU received a big commitment from Class of 2025 four-star defensive tackle Zion Williams from Lufkin, Texas. The prospect announced his decision to pledge to the Tigers just before 8 am CT. Williams, who is 6-foot-4 and weighs 330 pounds, is ranked as the No. 20 defensive tackle in his class.

Williams had offers from top programs like Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M, USC, Florida, TCU, and Arkansas. However, he ultimately chose LSU. This addition brings the Tigers’ 2025 class to 13 commitments, with all but one being four-stars or better. Their class is currently ranked No. 11 in the Recruiting Team Rankings.

The Tigers’ defense has been strengthened by the addition of another talented recruit – four-star defensive end LaJesse Harrold. This marks the second defensive lineman in their haul so far this recruiting cycle. While LSU has focused more on the offensive side of things with nine offensive commitments compared to just four defensive commitments so far this cycle, their defense continues to look strong with these impressive additions.
