LSU pitcher Will Hellmers reached a milestone on Friday, as he received his degree in general business. The graduation ceremonies took place on campus and showcased the academic accomplishments of student-athletes like Hellmers. Over the past 17 years, 120 LSU baseball players have earned degrees, highlighting the program’s commitment to academic excellence. Additionally, LSU baseball players have been recognized on the SEC Academic Honor Roll 175 times since 2007.

Hellmers, a right-handed pitcher from Metairie, Louisiana, has been a part of the LSU program for four seasons. In those seasons, he has made 46 career appearances, including 13 starts, and has a record of 9-2 with 75 strikeouts in 74.2 innings. This season, Hellmers has made 15 relief appearances and recorded a mark of 1-0 with an ERA of 4.15 and struck out 12 batters in 13 innings.

Hellmers’ dedication to both academics and athletics is exemplified by his being named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll three times and receiving Freshman All-America recognition in 2021 after posting a record of
