During a thrilling game on Tuesday, Los Angeles Sparks rookie Cameron Brink suffered a knee injury that required her to be carried off the court. The incident occurred mid-way through the first quarter after a collision with another player. Despite her best efforts to stand up, Brink had to be helped off the court by trainers once she reached the bench.

At halftime, the Sparks confirmed that the injury was indeed to Brink’s knee and announced that she would not be returning to the game. Further details about the extent of her injury were not provided at that time. Prior to the incident, Brink had been selected as a member of Team USA’s 3×3 basketball team for the upcoming Paris Olympics.

The Sparks will closely monitor Brink’s recovery as she receives treatment for her knee injury. The rookie had been averaging an impressive 8.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 2.4 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game before the incident occurred. Her absence from the game will undoubtedly have an impact on the Sparks’ performance moving forward, but they remain optimistic about her full recovery in time for Paris.
