Les Snead, the General Manager of the Los Angeles Rams, has been named the recipient of the 2024 Horrigan Award by the Pro Football Writers of America. This prestigious award is given annually to a league or club official who exemplifies professionalism and cooperation with the media that cover the NFL. Snead is only the second member of the Rams franchise to receive this award, with former head coach John Robinson winning it in 1992.

This achievement highlights Snead’s dedication to fostering positive relationships with the media and his willingness to assist journalists in their coverage of the league. He is being recognized for his positive interactions with reporters and his commitment to helping journalists do their job effectively. Snead joins Buffalo’s Brandon Beane as the first General Manager to receive this honor since 2021.

The Horrigan Award is named after Jack Horrigan, a respected sportswriter and public relations professional who made significant contributions to the American Football League and the Buffalo Bills. The award recognizes individuals who embody Horrigan’s qualities and professional style. Joe Horrigan, who has been with the Pro Football Hall of Fame for 45 years, continues to oversee the selection process for this prestigious award.

Snead was up against tough competition from other nominees such as 49ers General Manager John Lynch, NFL VP of communications Brian McCarthy, and NFL EVP of football operations Troy Vincent. However, Snead’s outstanding efforts in working with the media and supporting journalists ultimately earned him this prestigious recognition.
