The No. 1 seed Texas Longhorns are on their way to the women’s College World Series and will face off against the No. 8 seed Stanford Cardinal in their first game in Oklahoma City. Despite Texas coach Mike White’s disapproval of having to play games in Oklahoma City, he understands that his team must be prepared for a hostile environment as the teams in Oklahoma City are divided into two brackets, with Texas, Florida, Oklahoma State, and Stanford in Bracket 1.

Reese Atwood has been named the Softball America Player of the Year and leads the Longhorns with impressive batting stats, while Viviana Martinez and Teagan Kavan lead in other categories. For the Cardinal, Emily Jones and Aly Kaneshiro are key players with impressive stats leading into the matchup against the Longhorns.

The game between these two teams is scheduled for Thursday, May 30 at 6 p.m. CT at OGE Energy Field at Devon Park in Oklahoma City. The match will be broadcasted on ESPN2 and can also be listened to on the Texas Longhorns Radio Network. Both teams will bring their A-game as they compete for a spot in the next round of the Women’s College World Series.
