An annual health expo was held in Lompoc, attracting over 500 seniors. The event took place at the Dick DeWees Community and Senior Center and featured various vendors, including healthcare providers, government agencies, local businesses, organizations and other senior-related groups.

Seniors had the opportunity to receive health checks, such as blood work and blood pressure measurements offered by Lompoc Valley Medical Center. The expo was organized by Lompoc Recreation Supervisor Sue Slavens who aimed to connect seniors with resources they may not have known about. Slavens highlighted the importance of reaching out to seniors who may not frequently leave their homes by showcasing programs like exercise classes.

The event was a collaborative effort between the Lompoc Parks and Recreation Division and the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation. Overall, the expo succeeded in providing seniors with valuable information and resources to support their health and well-being.
