On June 30, 2024, Jacob Singleton, a 24-year-old resident of Bear, Delaware, was apprehended by the New Castle County Police Department for felony criminal mischief at Drake’s Towing on Dupont Parkway. The incident took place on June 27, 2024, when Singleton caused several thousand dollars in damage to the business, including shattering a window with a chair. After realizing the business was closed for the day, Singleton became upset and fled the scene in a black sedan.

Troopers responded to the report of criminal mischief and discovered that Singleton was the suspect. Through investigative means, they obtained a warrant for his arrest. On June 30, 2024, Singleton was charged with felony Criminal Mischief of $5,000 or more and Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $6,001 secured bond.
