The Center Point City Council met for their final meeting of May on Tuesday night, May 28 at City Hall. Due to failing to meet the quorum for the regularly scheduled meeting on May 23, the full Council was present for this meeting. The agenda for the meeting was light, with only one item of new business. However, some council members questioned the timing of the expenditures listed in the resolution.

Mayor Bobby Scott explained that the travel expenses were for the planning and zoning committee, who had attended the Neighborhoods USA conference in El Paso. Due to the lack of quorum at the previous meeting, the travel expenses could not be approved beforehand, even though the trip had already been scheduled.

Councilmember Glenn Williams Sr. raised concerns about one specific expenditure for recent travel and inquired about its purpose and whether it had already taken place. After some discussion, Williams asked why
