On May 23, 2024 at 12:45 p.m., a Plymouth Police Officer responded to a call at the Economy Inn room 244 regarding Brett Kersey’s violation of his parole. According to reports, Officer Jeremy Enyart arrived at the scene and took Kersey into custody without any issues. Kersey was then transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was held for the warrant and other pending charges, with no bond set.

It is important for readers to remember that the charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is simply an allegation of a crime being committed. There is only probable cause to believe a crime has occurred. Throughout the legal proceedings, individuals like Kersey are presumed innocent and have the right to be represented by legal counsel. They are also entitled to a trial by jury where the State must provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt can be made.
