Jody Murphy from Parkersburg achieved his first career hole-in-one on Tuesday, June 11 at Worthington Golf Club. While playing in the Knights of Columbus league, Murphy used a 7-iron to ace the 145-yard, par-3, No. 4 hole. Witnessing the impressive shot were Kaleb Deon and Mike Evans.

The Wirt County High School volleyball team will be hosting a golf scramble at Mingo Bottom Golf Club on Saturday, July 27. The cost to participate is $200 per foursome, with prizes available for first and second place. Lunch and snacks will be provided for all participants. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Each player will receive two mulligans, and a teebuster option is available for $10.
