The City of Caldwell has recently introduced new parking meters in the heart of downtown. Local business owners have expressed their views on how this new parking program will affect them. Despite some initial concerns, community leaders are confident that the program will reduce congestion and encourage long-term parkers to utilize free parking lots a few blocks away from downtown.

Dawn Bashore, owner of Fire and Ice Pottery Studio, is worried that the added cost of parking could discourage customers from visiting her studio, particularly elderly customers who may find it difficult to walk long distances. She hopes that the community can understand the challenges faced by local businesses during this transition period and support them through any difficulties that may arise.

On Monday, April 15 at 2:00 PM, local businesses are invited to attend a discussion and update session about the new parking program at the City of Caldwell Train Depot. Christina Rock, owner of Spectagals in Downtown Caldwell, believes that there may be some challenges initially with the new parking system but is hopeful that it will ultimately help local businesses thrive.
