In June, Arne Slot was appointed as the new head coach of Liverpool after leaving Feyenoord. To assist him in his new role, Slot has brought in three new appointments to his backroom staff. Sipke Hulshoff, who was previously Slot’s assistant at Feyenoord, will now serve as his assistant at Liverpool. Ruben Peeters will be the new lead physical performance coach, and Fabian Otte will be the head goalkeeping coach, joining from the USA national team.
Slot’s appointment comes after Jurgen Klopp left Liverpool following eight and a half years as manager. Slot expressed his excitement about the challenge, emphasizing the importance of having familiar faces on his staff to help implement his playing style. He mentioned the wealth of talent already at Liverpool and plans to combine his ideas with the existing knowledge at the club.
Liverpool’s first game under Slot’s management will be away at Ipswich on 17 August. The Premier League fixture release confirmed that the game will be a 12:30 pm kick-off. This marks the beginning of a new era for Liverpool under Slot’s leadership.
