Liora’s abduction has been a difficult journey for her, and she has not given up in her fight to bring her daughter back. Despite the challenges she faced, Liora remained determined and continued to give interviews, write letters to world leaders, and call for every possible effort to secure Noa’s release. In her latest interview with Jacob, Liora shared her deep longing for Noa, stating “How much I miss you,” as they celebrated Seder night without their only child.

Liora reached out to US President Joe Biden in December, pleading for help in securing Noa’s freedom. In her letter, Liora revealed that she was battling stage 4 brain cancer and that the urgency of the situation was due to her health. She urged President Biden to help in any capacity he could.

Noa had been held captive in Gaza for an extended period before being reunited with her mother. During her captivity, Noa’s main concern was for her parents, emphasizing the relief of being back with them amidst so much uncertainty. At 61 years old, Liora had been fighting brain cancer for years after moving from China over three decades ago as a student. She met Jacob in Be’er Sheva and is the only child they share.
