Lions defensive back Brian Branch was spotted using a knee scooter and wearing a walking boot while in Detroit for the draft last month. On Thursday, head coach Dan Campbell provided an update on Branch’s condition, stating that he had undergone a minor “cleanup” procedure on something that the team believed could heal on its own.

Campbell joked that Branch enjoys using the scooter before giving an estimate for his return to the field. He expressed optimism about Branch’s progress, stating that the team feels he will be ready for training camp or, at the very least, will have enough practice reps to be prepared for the upcoming season.

Despite his injury setback, the team remains confident in Branch’s ability to bounce back and make an impact in the upcoming season. In 18 games last year, including the regular season and playoffs, Branch started in 10 of those games and made significant contributions with 94 tackles, three interceptions, two sacks, and a forced fumble.
