Leigh secured a 10-2 victory over Catalans Dragons in the Betfred Super League match, thanks to Tom Amone’s first try of the season. The win boosted Leigh’s play-off hopes, while Catalans have now lost five of their past six matches.

Leigh took an 8-2 lead into halftime with Amone’s try being the only one of the first half. Matt Moylan kicked a penalty to extend Leigh’s lead, and Catalans were unable to mount a comeback. Despite having plenty of possession, Catalans struggled to threaten the Leigh line throughout the match.

The key moment in the match came when Amone scored a try from close range with strong support from his team. This was the second match in which Catalans failed to score a try against Leigh this season. The Leopards are now within five points of sixth-placed Catalans and have a game in hand, facing Headingley next Friday. On the other hand, Catalans will face Huddersfield as they try to improve their standing in the league.
