Leicester City has appointed Steve Cooper as their new manager. The 44-year-old signed a contract with the Foxes, taking over from Enzo Maresca who left for Chelsea last month. Cooper had been without a job since leaving Nottingham Forest in December.

During his time at Nottingham Forest, Cooper led the team back to the Premier League after 23 years and ensured their survival in the top flight in the following season. Leicester chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha expressed his excitement about Cooper’s appointment, praising his vision for the team and his ability to develop players.

Cooper will face challenges such as a potential points deduction and the need to potentially sell key players to comply with Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules. The club will be looking to Cooper to continue their success and solidify their position in the Premier League.

Cooper’s debut league match as Leicester manager will be on 19 August against Tottenham Hotspur at the King Power Stadium. Leicester fans will be eager to see how Cooper leads the team in the upcoming season as they strive for success in the Premier League.
