Lee Health has been recognized as one of the most socially responsible health systems in the United States. According to the Lown Institute, which evaluated over 300 hospitals across the country, Lee Health ranks fourth in social responsibility, just behind Massachusetts General Hospital and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

The Lown Hospitals Index for Social Responsibility evaluated various metrics related to health equity, value of care, and patient outcomes. Among Lee Health’s hospitals, Lee Memorial Hospital was ranked number one in Florida for social responsibility and placed in the top 5 in the state for value of care and avoiding overuse. This recognition highlights the system’s commitment to providing high-quality care while considering the needs of the community.

Lee Health has been recognized for its dedication to social responsibility and health equity for two consecutive years. The system has also been awarded “A” grades by the Lown Institute in categories like social responsibility, patient outcomes, clinical outcomes, inclusivity, patient safety, and cost efficiency.
