The Ducks will be leaving the Pac-12 conference in 2024 to join the Big Ten. Known for their strong relationship with Nike, which was founded by two alumni, and their unique and trendy uniforms, the Ducks have become one of the top college football teams in the country. Over the past two decades, they have made appearances in the National Championship Game in 2010 and 2014, and have a Heisman winner in Marcus Mariota from 2014.

On the basketball court, the Ducks won the first NCAA Tournament in 1939 but didn’t reach the Final Four again until 2017. This was the longest drought between appearances in NCAA history. Meanwhile, their rival team, Oregon State University (OSU), has won seven conference championships in football, with their most recent one being in 2000. OSU’s best season was in 1907 when they had a perfect 6-0 record and outscored their opponents by an astounding margin of 137-0.

The University of Portland discontinued its football team after 1950. However, they have made two NCAA Tournament appearances in basketball but unfortunately haven’t won any games. Their last appearance was in 1996, also known as “The Year of Pilots,” when they won their only West Coast Conference tournament title.

On the other hand, Portland State University (PSU) competes in Division I football and has made it to two Division I-AA playoffs so far. Their best season was in 1988 when they lost to North Dakota State in the Division II National Championship Game. In basketball, PSU has made two NCAA Tournament appearances so far:
