On Tuesday at 4:45 a.m., the Lawrence Police Department received a call about a wounded man in the area of E 9th Street and Massachusetts. According to LPD, the caller reported that he had been sleeping in an alley when he woke up to another man yelling that he had been stabbed. The injured man was taken to a local hospital and is expected to recover. However, the police later clarified that they could not confirm if the man was actually stabbed.

During their investigation, LPD discovered two nearby businesses with broken windows. They are now looking into whether this is related to the wounded man. LPD is currently working on obtaining a suspect description and will release more information as the investigation progresses.
