Laurel Pickering, an experienced leader in the healthcare industry, has been announced as the new president and CEO of the St. Louis Area Business Health Coalition (BHC). Pickering will take over from Louise Probst, who has served as the coalition’s leader for more than 20 years and will retire at the end of June.
Pickering holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from the University at Albany and a master’s in public health from Emory University. She brings with her around 20 years of experience leading the Northeast Business Group on Health, as well as working with Welldoc, a digital health company, and Centivo, an alternative health plan.
Probst’s retirement is scheduled for June 30th. The coalition is dedicated to advocating for lower health care costs on behalf of employers, with many of the region’s largest companies as members. Under Probst’s leadership, BHC has been able to drive innovation and positive change in healthcare value for employers and families in the St. Louis region and beyond.
In a press release, Pickering stated: “I am honored to take on this role and build upon BHC’s strong foundation. I look forward to collaborating with our members, partners, and other stakeholders to drive further innovation and positive change in healthcare value for employers and families in the St. Louis region and beyond.”
