Lapeer High School is undergoing construction as part of a bond project approved by voters in the Lapeer Community Schools district. Crews have installed footings, underground utilities, and two layers of block for the new science labs at the school. Additionally, existing walls, doors, and lockers have been demolished to make way for renovations that include new door frames, block walls, and flooring.

Meanwhile, at Turrill Elementary School in Lapeer, construction is well underway to create a new multi-purpose gym room. Walls are currently being constructed for this new space, in addition to renovations to bathrooms and HVAC upgrades at the school. These improvements are all part of the bond project that aims to enhance educational facilities throughout the district.

The $44-million bond project was approved by voters in November 2022, signaling a commitment to modernizing and improving facilities within the Lapeer Community Schools district. With construction work already underway at both schools, students and staff can look forward to updated and upgraded spaces that will enhance the learning environment for years to come.
