The Boston Celtics emerged victorious in the 2024 NBA Championship on Monday evening, defeating the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the Finals. Despite facing injuries during the playoffs, Kristaps Porzingis played in three of the five Finals games, recording five points and one rebound while shooting 2/4 from the field in 16 minutes.

Following the victory, Porzingis took to Instagram to share his excitement with his followers. His post received over 220,000 likes and 2,000 comments, with former teammate Carmelo Anthony leaving a comment consisting of three fist emojis. The two played together for the New York Knicks for two seasons before Anthony was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder following the 2016-17 season.

Porzingis capped off his first season with the Boston Celtics with impressive averages of 20.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.9 blocks per game, shooting 51.6% from the field and 37.5% from three-point range in 57 games. Throughout his nine-year career, Porzingis has also played for the Washington Wizards and Dallas Mavericks, earning an NBA All-Star appearance in 2018.
