An 84-year-old man was reportedly seriously injured in a knockover incident that occurred on the streets of Schliersee, Bavaria. The suspect, a 49-year-old man, is now under investigation for bodily harm and attempted manslaughter. The initial incident took place when the suspect knocked over the elderly pedestrian, causing serious head injuries that were not life-threatening.

Following the attack on the elderly man, the suspect fled to his apartment where he threatened police officers with a knife upon their arrival. This prompted reinforcements from numerous officers and the special forces. During his arrest, the 49-year-old allegedly stabbed a SEK officer multiple times, although the officer remained unharmed. The suspect himself sustained minor injuries during the arrest.

The motive behind the attacks on the elderly man and the police officer remains unclear at this time, as investigations continue into the unsettling incident. The suspect was issued a detention order by an investigating judge on Saturday and taken to a psychiatric hospital for evaluation.
