As the 2024 Knights prepare for fall camp, this position-by-position breakdown begins with the quarterback position. KJ Jefferson is expected to be the starter when the Knights kick off the season against New Hampshire on Aug. 29. The fifth-year senior transferred to Orlando from Arkansas, where he set multiple passing records during his time with the Razorbacks. Jefferson’s experience in the SEC and his skillset make him the ideal leader for the team as they enter their second year in the Big 12 conference.

The departure of Timmy McClain has reshaped the quarterback room, but with the addition of KJ Jefferson and Jacurri Brown, the Knights have a solid group of quarterbacks to lead the team. The projected depth chart includes Jefferson as QB1, Brown as QB2, Rizk as QB3, Trujillo as QB4, and Colson as QB5. With limited playing time last season before redshirting, Dylan Rizk will be competing for playing time along with newcomer Riley Trujillo and freshman EJ Colson.
