The final home game of the regular season saw Battle face off against Kirksville. Although the first half was uneventful with both teams remaining scoreless until halftime, Kirksville emerged victorious in the second half. They scored two quick goals within the first eight minutes, setting the tone for the rest of the game.

Tigers’ Lauren Albright was a standout player in this match, scoring two goals early on and dominating the field throughout. Her impressive play eventually led to a third goal for the Tigers. Kirksville maintained possession of the ball, and Lucy Tiedemann capitalized on a Battle defensive error to score another goal, bringing their lead to 3-0.

Tiedemann continued her impressive play with back-to-back goals, extending Kirksville’s lead to 4-0. Battle’s Ainsley Craver made some impressive saves to momentarily halt Kirksville’s momentum. However, Kirksville didn’t let up and secured a 7-0 lead over Battle with ten minutes left in the game, resulting in Battle’s 15th consecutive loss.

Kirksville’s victory set them up for their upcoming Class 2 District 8 Tournament against Chillicothe. Meanwhile, Battle will compete in the Class 4 District 6 Tournament against Blue Springs South.
