The Kings and Raptors have completed a trade ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season. In exchange for guards Davion Mitchell and Sasha Vezenkov, the Kings will receive forward Jalen McDaniels from Toronto. This trade was reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic and ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Kings drafted Mitchell in the first round of the 2021 NBA draft and showed promise during his rookie season. He was expected to be a key player in the team’s future. On the other hand, Vezenkov, a forward acquired through a trade in 2023, also showed potential in limited playing time.

Meanwhile, McDaniels is a versatile sixth-year wing who brings experience to the Kings. He has demonstrated his ability to score and defend at a high level in the NBA. With McDaniels joining the team, the Kings hope to improve their performance on both ends of the floor.

Overall, this trade marks a significant shift in the Kings’ roster for the upcoming season as they give up promising young players like Mitchell and Vezenkov but gain experienced talent with McDaniels and a draft pick.
