In the offseason, the Kentucky Wildcats have been making headlines with the hiring of a new head coach and heavy activity in the transfer portal. The team has undergone a roster transformation under Mark Pope, who has brought in several talented players that could make them a force to be reckoned with this season.

According to 247 Sports, Kentucky is currently ranked 15th in the country following the NBA Draft deadline and the transfer portal. The Wildcats were extremely active in signing new players through the transfer portal. Some of the notable additions to their roster include Lamont Butler, Otega Oweh, Amari Williams, Brandon Garrison, Kerr Kriisa, Koby Brea, Andrew Carr, and Jaxson Robinson.

As a University of Cincinnati alum and Bearcats fan, writer of this article believes that Oweh, Garrison, Kriisa and Robinson are great additions based on their performance in the Big 12 conference. Robinson played for Pope at BYU and is expected to bring a strong 3-point shooting element to the team.

247 Sports highlights that Otega Oweh can add a new dimension to Kentucky’s offensive strategies due to his size and athleticism. They believe that combination of shooting, rim protection and experience in Pope’s coaching scheme could make Kentucky a very dangerous team this season. With an impressive SEC ranking as fourth-highest behind Auburn, Alabama and Tennessee; Texas A&M , Florida , Arkansas are also ranked behind Kentucky while ole miss just missed out on making it onto the list.
