Kari Lake, the former television broadcaster and 2022 gubernatorial candidate, is expected to become the GOP’s Senate nominee in Arizona. Lake has recently received $20,000 for a paid speaking engagement at the St. Joseph County Republican Party’s Lincoln Day Dinner in South Bend, Indiana. This payment was revealed through a financial disclosure.

Apart from this recent payment, Lake previously earned $75,000 from paid speeches before announcing her Senate campaign. However, earlier statements from her campaign indicated that she did not charge speaking fees. Additionally, Lake made an additional $27,738.77 from sales of her book “Unafraid” within five months of its release. Her disclosure revealed details of her agreement with right-wing publisher Winning Team Publishing which included a $100,000 advance and 25% of net profits beyond that amount.

Lake’s assets have largely remained unchanged since January except for an addition to her stock portfolio that included shares in Trump Media & Technology Group, the company operating the former president’s “Truth Social” platform. Despite not having won an election yet, Lake’s celebrity status has allowed her to profit from various endeavors while aiming to secure a Senate seat.

Once Lake secures the GOP nomination, she is expected to face Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego in a pivotal election to determine Senate control.

Kari Lake’s success as a television broadcaster and 2022 gubernatorial candidate has propelled her into the spotlight and given her opportunities for monetization through paid speaking engagements and book sales.

While many politicians use their public profiles to monetize their work through book sales or speaking engagements, Kari Lake has faced criticism for spending extensive time out of state while still working towards securing a Senate seat.

Despite this criticism, Kari Lake continues to work towards becoming the GOP’s Senate nominee in Arizona and facing off against Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego in an important election that could determine Senate control.
