Kansas City is thrilled to be selected as a host city for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, beating out larger metro areas like Orlando, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. The City of Fountains was chosen for its commitment to hosting this prestigious event.

In addition to hosting matches, Kansas City will also serve as a host city and team base camp for the tournament. Along with Dallas, Kansas City offers three options for teams to use as a base camp, including the KC Current Training Facility, Sporting KC Training Center, and the University of Kansas. These base camps will be hubs for teams during the group stage, where players, staff, and officials will spend the majority of their time.

Teams participating in the World Cup will formally submit their desired selection for their base camp location by late 2025. Other host cities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup include Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Mexico City
