Juventus, a dominant force in the Italian Serie A, has announced that they will not be including Weston McKennie in their plans for the upcoming season. According to Marco Guidi of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the club sees McKennie as surplus to requirements and has informed the American midfielder that he is no longer part of their project.

McKennie had been a crucial player for Juventus in the previous season, but his future with the team was thrown into question when he requested a significant increase in salary. The negotiations for a new contract were stalled when McKennie requested €5 million net per year, which Juventus deemed too high.

In an effort to replace McKennie, Juventus tried to include him in a swap deal for Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz. However, McKennie turned down the move, indicating his desire to explore other opportunities.

As a result of this decision, Juventus has left McKennie out of their registered squad for the upcoming campaign. This move signals that his future with the team is uncertain and raises questions about where he will end up next. Both McKennie and his entourage are currently searching for new opportunities following Juventus’ decision to move on without him.
