Juventus have announced the appointment of Thiago Motta as their new manager, following the departure of Massimiliano Allegri. After spending some time searching for a replacement, the Serie A club settled on Motta, who expressed his excitement about taking on this new role with Juventus.

Motta has a proven track record in management, having successfully guided Bologna to Champions League qualification and achieved high points totals in Serie A during his two-year tenure. He is now tasked with restoring Juventus to its former glory after a few seasons of falling short in the Serie A title race.

One of the first decisions Motta has made as Juventus manager is to give his approval for the transfer of Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz to the club. This deal may see Weston McKennie and Samuel Iling Jr move in the opposite direction to the Premier League. With Juventus aiming to reclaim the Serie A title, Motta will need to work hard to restore the team’s form and motivate them to perform at their best.
