As of July 1, former US President Donald Trump has seen a significant increase in his lead over current President Joe Biden in the polls. This lead has expanded by more than two percentage points, with Trump holding 42% of voting intentions compared to Biden’s 39.8%. The turning point in the polls came after a debate between the two candidates on a televised live event at CNN studios in Atlanta. Following Biden’s perceived poor performance in the debate, there has been speculation about his physical and mental fitness to continue the campaign. Despite this, Biden has maintained his position and insists that he will not withdraw from the election.

Biden briefly overtook Trump by a slight margin on June 20 but has since fallen behind. After the debate, Trump managed to regain the lead and has been steadily increasing his support among citizens leading up to the November 5 elections. However, despite these numbers, Biden remains determined to continue his candidacy and has shown no signs of stepping down.

The current state of affairs in US politics is highly polarized, with many Americans deeply divided between those who support Trump and those who support Biden. As such, it remains unclear what will happen come November 5th when Americans go to the polls once again to decide on their next president.
