A commemorative inscription honoring Stalin’s first exile to Siberia has been installed on Mount Kitkai in the Irkutsk region, near the village of Novaya Uda. The project was led by Anatoly Obukhov, a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Irkutsk region and member of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.

The installation is located near a gazebo that was also dedicated to Stalin, which was restored by local authorities in 2022. The gazebo is said to have been visited by Stalin in 1903 and now stands as a symbol of his historical connection to the region.

The project cost 258 thousand rubles, with funds going towards the purchase of iron sheets, wood, and fasteners. Five local residents created the inscription, which has become a new tourist attraction in the Angara region.

Overall, this tribute to a significant figure in Russian history adds to the cultural and historical landscape of the Irkutsk region and is sure to attract visitors from around the world.
