Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce has appointed Jose Mourinho as their new manager. The 61-year-old former manager of Roma will take over the team that finished second in the league to city rivals Galatasaray last season, despite an impressive record of just one loss and 99 points.

Mourinho, who has managed top clubs like Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Manchester United, is known for his successful career that includes winning the Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League. With 21 major honors to his name, he has had stints at clubs like Porto, Inter Milan, and Tottenham before his recent tenure at Roma.

In a video message to the fans, Mourinho teased his imminent appointment by saying “see you tomorrow” and expressing his excitement to start the journey together. The club confirmed their negotiations with Mourinho via a public disclosure platform, KAP, to inform their investors of the potential hiring.

Mourinho’s most recent achievement came with Roma in 2022 when he led them to victory in the Europa Conference League, marking the club’s first European trophy. Despite his departure from Roma earlier this year, Mourinho’s track record of success and experience in the footballing world make him a sought-after manager for Fenerbahce.
